Information for Parents
In early September, a letter is sent to parents of selected students, explaining the program. The goal is to have students be consistently successful in academic endeavors, as they move through the more rigorous academic challenges of high school, and in preparation for college success. This program will address these issues.

The School District of Cheltenham Township has forged an exciting partnership with various local entities to develop an 8th and 9th grade community-based after-school tutoring program. The program entitled Cheltenham Academics has been designed to help strengthen academic achievement. As such, program goals include assisting students with challenging class assignments and enhancing language arts skills.
Students have been recommended and selected by a school team to take part in this program; tutoring is scheduled to begin at the end of September. A parent orientation meeting will be held in late September at which time we will further discuss program details and provide you with the opportunity to meet program organizers and tutors.
If selected to be a member of Cheltenham Academics, your son or daughter will be matched with trained tutors who are invested in the field of education. Cheltenham Academics tutoring sessions will be provided for about one hour and available after school at your child's school building (M-W at CHS, T-Th at CBK). There is no cost for the program; students who require transportation home from their sessions may take school district late buses.
Parents are requested to sign a permission form and return it to school by mid-September. Students will be admitted to the program on a first-come, first-served basis.
